As a premed major at UCLA, I had some of my best drawings in the margins of my notes. At the encouragement of my friends and looking at the prospect of attending medical school after graduation, I swapped textbooks for sketchbooks.

After earning my B.S. in Biology from UCLA, I honed my animation and illustration skills at the Art Academy of Los Angeles, the American Animation Institute, and the Animation Academy in Burbank.  Endless trips to the zoo and figurative workshops helped me further my interest in human and animal anatomy.  Over the years I have managed to experiment with various medial and styles of visual art while expanding my repetoir.   Since 1996 I have worked as a storyboard artist, character designer, background designer and an illustrator.

Some years ago, I began to delve further into the world of computer graphics which lead me to visual effects for film.  Houdini and Photoshop were added to my arsenal of tools next to the paper and the pencil.  Creating particle systems and digital lighting one day, and charcoal drawing and oil painting the next have given me a rich creative experience.

Some of my clients include Sony Pictures on the "Dilbert" TV series, Disney Japan on a new prototype website, and Warner Bros. as a concept poster illustrator for the second Harry Potter film. Recently I have been working as a digital effects artist at Digital Domain and Rhythm and Hues on such films as "Aeon Flux" and "The Chronicles of Narnia".

I continuously strive to balance my creative output between the traditional and digital media.  The ultimate goal, for me, is to to tell stories through pictures regardless of the tools at hand.
